About Us

Brooklawn was established in 1851, and opened Kentucky’s first Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility in 1991. Since that time, Brooklawn has set the standard for excellence in residential treatment.

Putting young people first...

Brooklawn cares for boys ages 5-18, and girls ages 6-11, and is one of Kentucky’s oldest and most well respected providers of residential care.

Our success has been built on the principle that each child in our care be given the opportunity, care, and support to achieve their highest potential.

Brooklawn offers a full continuum of licensed residential programs and services.

These include:

Our Philosophy…

Brooklawn utilizes the Restorative Approach™ of treatment which focuses on relationship building rather than the punitive aspects of the level systems found in the “Behavioral Modification Model” of treatment.

Residents are treated by a multi-disciplinary team of behavioral health specialists within their cottage. Having a primary team gives residents consistency and continuity of care and has proven to provide better treatment outcomes.

Our Campus:

Brooklawn’s attractive, spacious 27-acre campus contains ten residences, a school, an administration building, offices and maintenance buildings. Recreation facilities include a gymnasium, soccer field, softball diamond, basketball courts, and two playgrounds.
