Residential Program
Direct Care Specialists
Brooklawn is currently seeking candidates for Direct Care Specialists for the following full-time positions:
- 2nd shift (4-day work schedule)
- 3rd shift (5-day work schedule)
Positions require set schedules and working weekend shifts. (Schedules are subject to change when school is not in session: spring, summer, and winter breaks).
Responsible for providing a variety of direct care services to residents, assisting professional staff in the implementation of individual treatment plans, and ensuring the effective operation of the residential program. This is a highly interactive position with some physical requirements.
Pay Scale:
$10.25 per hour/$10.75 per hour with Bachelors Degree.
Excellent advancement/promotional opportunities.
High School diploma or its equivalent required; Bachelors Degree preferred. Previous experience with youth ages 6-18 and/or course work/degree in social services field is desired. Competitive salary and benefits. Minimum 20 years of age.

TEAM LEADER
As a 2nd Shift TEAM LEADER, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a highly active cottage and the welfare of our residents. Under the direction of the Residential Director, you will provide leadership and residential expertise, function as a role model and resource, ensure adherence to standards in patient care practice within a residential care setting, and supervise all members of your team. As a Brooklawn team member, you will play an important role by collaborating with others and contributing toward our mission and values.
The person filling this position must have a bachelors degree in psychology, social work, or a related field and two years experience to include a minimum of one year of supervisory experience; or a High School diploma or equivalent and five years of experience working with children or adolescents in a mental health setting, to include a minimum of one year of supervisory experience. Nursing
DIRECTOR OF NURSING
The Director of Nursing position is a full-time, salaried position which is responsible for the administration and management of the Nursing Department and the Nursing staff. S/he is responsible for a variety of health and nursing-related services including, but not limited to, direct care to residents, overseeing the provision of nursing care to the residents; supervision of the nursing staff, coordination of the employee health, infection control, nursing policy and procedure, infection control/universal precautions, and medication administration programs including oversight of pharmacy services; and monitoring compliance with OSHA, COA and state licensure regulations. On-call responsibilities are shared with the employees of the Nursing Department.
In addition to the job-specific responsibilities, the Director should support the mission, vision and philosophy of Brooklawn, a non-profit residential treatment facility dedicated to restoring health, and promoting healing, in young lives. This position requires a dedicated professional who is willing to “go the extra mile” to promote Brooklawns’ goals, maintain accreditation standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and practice sound stewardship of Brooklawn resources.
This position chairs the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and represents Nursing on leadership committees within the organization. Duties of a standardized and non-standardized nature exist. A great deal of independent judgment and initiative is necessary in connection with this position. Must have the ability to deal with pressure and respond quickly to multiple demands. Must be able to support a large population of child and adolescent residents. This position reports directly to the Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.
The person filling this position must possess a valid and current Kentucky Registered Nursing License. Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in a psychiatric setting required, Master’s degree and prior experience in infection control and employee health, is preferred. Must have proven leadership and supervisory/management skills and experience. Good written, computer and verbal communication skills are necessary. Confidentiality in preserving medical information, concerning individual residents as well as employees, is required.

The Nurse is responsible for a variety of health and nursing related services including, but not limited to, providing nursing care to the residents; assistance with the employee health, infection control, universal precautions, pharmacy and therapeutics, and medication administration programs; and compliance with OSHA, COA Licensure regulations. On-call responsibilities are shared with the nurses in the department.
The person filling this position must possess a valid and current Kentucky Nursing license or have experience in psychiatric setting, child/adolescent experience preferred. Good written, computer and oral communication skills are necessary. Must also gain a thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures of Brooklawn. Confidentiality in preserving medical information concerning individual residents is required. RN preferred.
