"Thank You Volunteers!"

Brooklawn joins non-profits across America in observing national Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 18-24, 2010).
National Volunteer Appreciation Week, a signature event of Points of Light Institute, celebrates ordinary people doing extraordinary things to improve communities across the nation.
Commemorating the one-year anniversary of the late-Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's Serve America Act and the Volunteer Generation Fund, this year's theme -- Celebrating People in Action -- honors individuals who take action and solve significant problems in their communities.
"Brooklawn is very fortunate to have so many volunteers who give of themselves to help the children in our care," said Brooklawn President/CEO David A. Graves. "From tutors and mentors, to groups who take the children on outings, hold parties or conduct work projects that beautify our campus - volunteers help us accomplish things we couldn't do without their help."
To learn more about how you or your organization can get involved at Brooklawn and help touch the life of a child, please call Missy Fountain at (502) 515-0474, or e-mail her at mfountain@brooklawn.net.
