Brooklawn Welcomes new VP of Program Services

Brooklawn is delighted to announce the hiring of John  R. Francis as our new Vice President for Program Services.

John brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and compassion to Brooklawn and will be a great asset to  our  continued success of providing hope and healing to the children we serve.

John has a  masters degree in Social Work  from the University of Tennessee. Early in his career, he and his wife lived in a residential group home as teaching parents.  John  served as Vice President of  Residential and Educational Programs for The Children's Home Association of Illinois  from 1987 until 2001 , and subsequently as President/CEO of United Methodist Youthville in Newton KS, and Executive Director of Rescare in Charleston, WV.

Some of the qualities John brings to Brooklawn are:

Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory standards and processes

  • Accountability
  • Team building/training
  • Commitment to helping others set and reach their goals
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Outcomes (has designed systems, developed a "dashboard", etc.)
  • Maintain strong programs
  • Expand existing programs
  • Start new programs

"We are very fortunate to have him join our leadership team. John comes to Brooklawn at and exciting time as we prepare to expand to serve more children, and open the state's first intensive residential treatment program for young girls."
