Brooklawn scores "win" thanks to Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels

It’s not March Madness, but basketball season at Brooklawn is every bit as exciting.  This year’s season began last week with Brooklawn serving as the host team for the first time ever, thanks to a grant from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

The Colonels helped fund the purchase an electronic scoreboard so that Brooklawn could host home basketball games and intramural sports on campus.  Up until this year, the Brooklawn Tigers had to travel to other agencies to play basketball (making them the perpetual visitors at every game) and staff had to use small flip-cards to keep score during intramural sports.

“Home is such an important concept to our boys,” said Missy Fountain, Director of Community Involvement.  “Having the opportunity to host a game, and be the home team, was very exciting to them and their peers who for the first time were able to come out and cheer their team on.”

Brooklawn would like to thank the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels for making it a special night in the lives of our boys.  It’s shaping up to be a great season of hoops at Brooklawn.
